Adapalene is used to treat acne vulgaris. It may decrease the number and severity of acne pimples and promote quick healing of pimples that do develop. Adapalene belongs to a class of medication called retinoids. It works by affecting the growth of cells and decreasing swelling and inflammation.
Administration: Apply a thin film topically to clean/dry skin once daily in the evening before bedtime. Avoid contact with damaged, eczematous, or sunburned skin, mucous membranes, eyes, lips, and angles of the nose. Slight stinging may occur shortly after application.
Cautions: Use is associated with increased sensitivity to UV light; avoid excessive sunlight exposure. Daily sunscreen uses and other protective measures are recommended.
